The shortened shock length preserves usable damper travel at a lower stance, and the kit keeps the same 30-way adjustable mono-tube damper and independent ride-height adjustment as the rest of the BR Series lineup. Since the damper itself is physically shorter, you get a lower ride height while still retaining usable suspension travel - instead of running a standard kit with the springs drooped low and the shock riding near fully compressed. Spring rates on Extreme Low kits may be stiffer than the standard equivalent depending on the platform, which can sharpen handling response but may also make bumps a bit harsher. Converting BC Racing Coilovers to Air Suspension BR Series coilovers on the Nissan 370Z & Infiniti G37 aren't locked into a coil spring setup for life.
