Since the damper itself is physically shorter, you get a lower ride height while still retaining usable suspension travel - instead of running a standard kit with the springs drooped low and the shock riding near fully compressed. Spring rates on Extreme Low kits may be stiffer than the standard equivalent depending on the platform, which can sharpen handling response but may also make bumps a bit harsher. Converting BC Racing Coilovers to Air Suspension BR Series coilovers on the Audi B6 & B7 A4/S4/RS4 aren't locked into a coil spring setup for life. Because they feature fully-threaded shock bodies, these coilovers convert to a full air suspension setup by simply removing the coil springs and threading on a set of coilover conversion bags in their place.
